MY Leadership - Studnet Write ups Analysis

My Leadership - Student write ups

Part of IM 18 Leadership development course students are asked to write their leadership in FIVE sentences. Students submitted their leadership on a paper. Below are select student write ups. The write ups are analyzed for Leadership.

Student 1:  I am a leader. I think the most important quality of a leader is to find the right resources, right people. Understanding the process and the target but I also keep a tract on the people directly and indirectly associated as a leader always is said so when there are people with him. I have the ability to convince people and sense others  needs.

Another important quality I have is understand the situation and having the knowledge about things I do even though I don't, then i make it point a to know it thoroughly.

Student 2 :  Leadership to me is about vision for the future. A leader should have foresight. He / she should have skills to innovate. a good leader should set realistic goals and inspire his followers to achieve them. A leader should empathize with followers and incorporate their view while making a decision.

Student 4 :  

  • I will use emotional intelligence  when managing people
  • My goals would be high but realistic 
  • All the goals would be measurable and time targeted
  • My hallmark would  be pro-activeness
  • Vision for future would always be a cornerstone of my wok as a leader 

Student 5

I believe i am extrovert and good in communicating personally and professionally. my leadership personalizing is judgmental and thinking. the leader in me innovative.
Motivation and inspiration for the team is necessary that is something i would work upon. 

 Student  6

1. High emotional intelligence. 2. Trust  on the team members. 3. Lead by example 4. enthusiasm 5. Integrity honesty, accountability  


Student 7 

1. A leader is one who is a great motivator, inspiring, and a an aspirational role model . more importantly he /she is the one who creates leaders.

2. My leadership qualities are:
a. A motivator: a key attribute, my friends and my team members associate me
b. Guide: an attitude with Never say Never ' I always try to find solution and have been a great guide whenever someone needs my presence.
c. Understanding the cultural sentiments and religious beliefs. I value everyone believes, which makes me a great team player and an easy going personality.

 Student 8
 A true leader is one who leads by example. this is something that i value and try to adopt. this ensures a very collaborative setting and helps to get in touch with the ground realities. such a collaborative style of leadership is necessary to motivate people and to earn their trust.

Student 9  

I am self motivated and .. I am a good team player...... I am approachable ..... I am hardworking .... I am tactful...

Student 10  

According to me, leadership or a leader is the one which shoes the right goal for a group of  people and continuously shows them the direction and motivates them to achieve it.

Leaders si the one who leads by example - exerts expert power on his group.

leaders is the one who takes initiatives
leader is the one who sets SMART goals.

  • What is meant by leadership concept for me as a corporate manager ?

  • Inferring the set of leadership competencies these actions reflect about me and my leadership
  • What is that I am aiming / striving for to emerge as a leader ?
